In July of 1986, Dr. Andrew Gurman relocated from New York to Pennsylvania to join Blair Orthopedic Associates and Dr. S. Victor King in the practice of orthopedic medicine.  In the year 2000, BOA partners Gurman, Dr. Charles Harvey, Dr. Joshua Port, Dr. Robert Singer, and Dr. Angela Rowe merged with Central Pennsylvania Orthopedic Specialists, and Dr. Gregory Fulchiero became part of the practice now known as Blair Orthopedic Associates & Sports Medicine.  The following year, the practice consolidated its three separate offices into one new and larger facility located at 3000 Fairway Drive in Altoona.  In November 2002, in order to properly accommodate the growing number of patients from throughout the region, Blair Orthopedic Associates expanded by adding the 121 June Drive office in Roaring Spring.  Today, BOA’s eight physicians, including Dr. Michael Molter and Dr. Chad Rappaport, and dedicated staff of over 60 health care professionals care for 70,000 patient visits per year.

BOA offers general and subspecialty orthopedic care, physical medicine and rehabilitation (Physiatry) and podiatry.  Additionally, the practice offers in-house Physical Therapy and X-ray services.  Our physicians are committed to returning their patients to a healthy lifestyle by providing outstanding expertise, quality and compassionate patient care, and superior customer service.
